MDR Garten has items about orchids, green walls, why the things which make some veggies like sprouts taste bitter may be good for your health, and of course Christmas decorations.
German broadcaster ZDF has put English subtitles on a programme about allotments and allotmenteers.
It's an older programme in several episodes, but so far they only seem to have one with subtitles. I wonder if it may have something to do with the asylum seekers who have recently arrived in Germany, because they have one episode with Arabic subs as well.
Extremely mild here at the moment, and it seems to be the same in much of Europe.
A friend from Nice just told me that the mimosa tree in her garden is flowering already, and I think that a couple of magpies are starting to build a nest in a large conifer in my neighbour's garden.
Here is today's harvest from the web. Nothing but clips today.
Strange, and it doesn't really seem right, so close to Christmas.
Not much gardening on the web at the moment.
Silence, ça pousse ! visited an artist who uses vegetables in his work. They also visit a garden near Mans, look at the tree of the year and they help someone renovate a garden.
Grünzeug has been looking at hellebores, and at succulents which are easy to look after. They also show how to cut back perennials and had a look at the collection of begonias in the botanic garden in Tübingen.
And Jardins et Loisirs visited a memorial garden in Belgium. Plant of the week is the Diospyrus kaki.
They also visited the water gardens of Ada Hofman in The Netherlands.
That is a sad story, because these beautiful gardens are now closed and they may well disappear altogether.
Ada and her husband left the gardens a few years ago when maintenance became too physically demanding for them.
Their daughter took over, but unfortunately had to close the gardens last October for financial reasons. I think they are trying to find a buyer for the gardens and garden centre now.
Record temperatures for December expected here in The Netherlands today.
And here is what I found on the web...
Oklahoma Gardening has a special about water in the landscape.
Extension Stormwater Specialist Jason Vogel shows a bioretention and rain garden demonstration project in Oklahoma City. We visit a water conservation demonstration garden at the Oklahoma City Zoo. Extension Turfgrass Specialist Justin Moss and Professor of Horticulture Lou Anella discuss subsurface irrigation systems. Extension Stormwater Specialist Jason Vogel has an update on our sand cistern project. Justin Moss visits with Madeleine Wiens from the Oklahoma City Office of Sustainability about how to save water around the house.
German HR Service has a programme with all sorts of tips for Christmas, like buying Christmas trees online, how to wrap up your presents, which house plants to give and fun things, like a Christmas tree out of cress, or make ice lanterns, and cyclamen coum.

Have a lovely Saturday!
Good morning everyone,
Still very mild, and difficult to think about Christmas with this weather.
So in order to get into the Christmas spirit I've dug up a few Christmas smilies.
Very few gardening programmes on the web at the moment.
All I could find today were a few German clips about Christmas trees.
The first one is abiout a guy who rents out Christmas trees.
http://www.ardmediathek.de/tv/buten-un-binnen-Regionalmagazin/Wandertannen-im-Weihnachts-Einsatz/Radio-Bremen-TV/Video?documentId=32372852&bcastId=967552
Next one about a grower where people can cut their own tree.
http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek#/beitrag/video/2630536/In-Brandenburg-wird-selbst-gef%C3%A4llt
And someone worked as a Christmas tree seller for a day.

Finally a clip about the history of the Christmas tree.
