I did find the latest episode of Prairie Yard & Garden though, and this is what's in it...
Easter is the one holiday that jumps to a new date from year to year with very variable light and temperature conditions during that growing season. Host, Mary Holm visits with Chris Bergen, owner of Bergen’s Greenhouses to find out how growers, even with a moving target, get lilies and other spring holiday flowers to bloom right on time each year?
Dry and mild here at the moment, so it looks like a really nice day here in The Netherlands.
And this is what I found on the web.
MDR Garten is still out and about visiting gardens. This time they went to Normandy. There they visited Monet's garden in Giverny and a sculpture garden in Vascouil.
Querbeet has been looking at sweet potatoes, ideas for Valentine, different types of ivy, a children's playground, the garden in winter, and they visited the garden of the Villa Hanbury in Ventimiglia, in Italy.
And I found a clip from ZDF about what to do with bulbs you buy in the sale at garden centres, or if you've still got them in the shed, and not in the soil.
Joey talks about simple growing indoors in window (low cost), harvesting and storing yacons, growing tomatoes in containers and planting fall shallots.
Host, Mary Holm travels to a tree arboretum at Absaraka, North Dakota, to visit with researcher, Dr. Todd West. This North Dakota State University professor is doing his best to develop new trees and shrubs that are pest resistant, hardy, and adapted for the soils and weather conditions for the North Central region of the US.
The weather here is absolutely vile, and expected to stay like that for most of the day.
I hope it's better where you are.
Here is what I found on the web today.
Oklahoma Gardening has the following...
Tips for early tomatoes from former host Ray Campbell -David Hillock and Mike Miller from Pond Pro Shop discuss spring chores for water gardens -Ray Campbell talks about gardener's helpers -Extension Food Specialist Barbara Brown prepares beet salad for one
Silence, ça pousse looks at the importance of wet zones and biodiversity. They also visited the garden at L'Haÿ-les-Roses, in the Val-de-Marne, and helped someone with a gardening problem.
And I also found a programme called A Walk in the Garden with Liz Davey.
Have no idea if it's interesting, but thought I'd add it anyway.
It's broadcast by the local community TV station in Norfolk, USA, and this ius what's in it...
Liz Davey checks on the state of her tender perennials covered by baskets for winter protection, instructs how to do a germination test on old seeds, begins some pre-season planting, and cooks a hearty beef stew accompanied by corn-and-potato scones and caramel popcorn.
No rain at the moment, but expected to get more later today.
Not much gardening on the web today.
The Central Texas Gardener has the following...
Grow up with vines! Colby Adams from Barton Springs Nursery has got your screening covered in sun and shade. On tour in Hutto, Donna and Mike Fowler banished lawn for destination gardens filled with art, food, and fun. Texas A&M’s Jim Kamas answers: which fruit trees need another tree for pollination? Plus get his tips for perfectly luscious plums. Trisha Shirey shows off her favorite new product to deter deer, squirrels, and other garden critters from the garden bounty.
