Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Wish Monty would divulge how many gardeners he has working for him at Longmeadow I am finding my half acre of fruit, veg and herbaceous borders hard work with the coming of old age. Could do with hints on how to make it easier!

I agree, I would appreciate a little more transparency on this point....especially given the run-down state of the place when he first took over GW.

I don't care how many people he has working for him.  Why does it matter. He never says he does it all himself. I doubt if any of the gardening presenters etc do.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • I agree that we need a longer programme. I goes so quickly, and I look at the clock and think OH NO Not 9 o'clock already.!

I find Monty very relaxed and soothing as well. A breath of fresh air at the end of a busy week. Love it!

Monty and his wife used to do all the garden themselves.  When he took on the GW programme it was at the BBC's insistence that he employed help - it's well documented. image

I love watching MD, dog, wheelbarrow and I too would love a longer programme so that I could see even more MD, dog and wheelbarrow. As a gardening beginner I have learnt so many fascinating 'how to do' things from DM's lovely voice, and am eagerly awaiting germination of my first Kniphoffffiii... (Red Hot Pokers). image
