The orange cowslip is featured in the Hot Garden in Bristol University Bot. Garden and I have divided them there and have bought one and now have eight plants in the alpine trough I planted it in.  It has its proper latinised botanical name on the label but I have lost mine.  I am visiting next week to pick up my tickets for the Monty Don Lecture so will have a look.  It must be common enough in some parts of the country or Europe to have earned its name.

A name would be interesting - glad I started this thread!  Another thing to try to remember though! image

I seem to remember it had the form added to Primula veris (in Latin) but will find out for sure next week.

At last I have been able to get the pics I promised from the Univ. of Bristol Botanic garden.  They have two plantings of it with their official label on, so, as I thought this is a naturally occurring native form.  Oh dear there  is a fault on the site so the pics will have to wait till it is accepting pics again, but I do have them now.
