Knotweed or Bindweed?

  • Isn't it very early in the year for bindweed? I normally don't see it appearing till june/july, but i'm in the north east.

  • Always amazes me just how much difference 300 miles can make... I watch gardeners world and Monty is doing all sorts of stuff that i know i couldn't get away with here for a monthimage

    Sticky willy is the main problem weed of the moment here. At least that's easy to clear as the dogs like to eat it..

    My field bindweed is popping up, this is the fourth year of my battle. You wouldn't believe the amount of roots for an established plant.

    The bindweed at one of my allotments is RAMPANT image No sooner do I stick the hoe in or pull up what I can see, within 24 hours, it's a couple of inches high again.

    And that's AFTER digging up all the visible roots to two spade depths image
