Aye, I saw that and much though I'd like to grow lavender, it doesn't do well in my acid soil .
Ordered 2 lots of them as I'm creating a lavander hedge alongside my lawn
I took advantage of free lavender cuttings from another firm and have them in greenhouse at the moment. they seems to be taking ages to grow at all and can't see that they'll be big enough to go out this year, maybe next at a push. I (foolishly) expected them to be larger than they were and don't know that I'd bother again as it's too much time/effort involved.
all my lavenders are from offers like this in the past. They have all done well, but do take a couple of seasons to get going. But all you need is somewhere to grow them on out of the way - they don't need much attention. And you get an awful lot of plants for a fiver
is there a link to order this online and code to activate it?
the offer I saw this month was for lily bulbs
May edition has not yet arrived in the post, waiting to mug the postie
have ordered the Lily bulbs hope they hurry up or they will be way behind others I have.
Be warned it'll be a long time before you can plant them out as a hedge!
I think i got these 2 summers ago, it took a good year of potting on and wintering in the greenhouse to get them to the point where they could be planted out.
Good if you have the time, and facilities to bring them on.
I brought plug plant lavenders last year. They're now around 1 inch - 2 inchs tall and due a repot soon. Don't expect too much from these for a while!
I did the same offer last year and planted them out in autumn of last year! All doing fine although still small! Lost a few before planting out through neglect on my part but this year I intend on filling the gaps!
