  • Blood fish and bone. Good mix of fast and slow release fertilisers. There's a thread here http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/plants/blood-fish-and-bone/245519.html

  • Manure or Blood Fish and Bone.

Blood Fish and Bone has quite a high embedded energy due to the crushing, grinding and kilning. . I'm not sure where the waste would go otherwise

  • It's not the best thing, ecologically, but you have to imagine it would be landfilled otherwise.
  • Many thanks

  • Indeed. Far better than the chemical plant alternatives.
  • For me it would be Vitax Q4 = NPK: 5.3-7.5-10 + trace elements.

I have well over 40 hydrangeas here plus dozens of other shrubs, never fed any, they are all well over 10ft tall. Do you really need to keep chucking feed at everything, they dont do it at the stately home gardens. They have huge shrubs. Maybe I should?

I use pelleted chicken manure as a spring feed for everything in my garden.
