    They are to buy but pergolas can be made if you have a few basic DIY skills.

    Look on here at the bean poles and arches.  Class.

  • Try builders steel reinforcing rods. I use temporary fence posts(look a bit like shepherds crooks) as plant supports in the beds. If you ever visit Norfolk Lavender at Heacham they have used steel reinforcements to make a super archway/pergola. Strong and cheap and so good looking.
