Very interested madpenguin, we have at least 3 judging from the different sizes of 'presents' I've been getting. We don't have a hog house, they live in an old willow stump covered in Ivy at the moment.

Was looking at this one on  Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Everything-Wildlife-Hedgehog-Feeder-House/dp/B00A9TT85K/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1428147086&sr=8-6&keywords=hedgehog+homes

Is that what you have in the picture or similar?

  • I nipped out the other night when the fog was bad and went to see the pond. It was spooky and I heard rustling... I thought it was a zombie and I was going to be done for. I turned round and there was a full size hedgehog.

I don't think I have ever seen one before in my life, but I have now... and in my own garden.

Birkenhead, Merseyside in case anyones tracking.

  • Hi I live in spital on the Wirral and we used to have a hedgehogs in our garden so I built a box for them to sleep over winter . Sadly I've not seen a hedgehog in the area for about two years now , so many get killed on the roads so I asked the neighbours to dig holes under their fences in the hope that this would keep them off the roads it may of saved some .

Hi, I have been putting out food and water hoping the hedgehogs would return,  and 2 of them are back. They had 3 hoglets last year. I live in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

I have to put the food inside boxes, because the neighbours cats will get to it first.

  • We are currently treating one who has a large incision across the back of his neck, most likely due to a strimmer. Can I please ask everyone to keep a careful check if you are using machinery to clear long grass or undergrowth.

The little guy is recovering, I will spare you photos.
