The outdoor planted Sturon sets, shown in my video https://youtu.be/IEm2Slsxbeg are growing well, in the very fine weather we are experiencing in Aberdeenshire this month. The kelsae onions grown from seed are doing well, but are still in the greenhouse.
I have grown mine seed (Red Mammoth, Globo) and they are ok but seem quite for small so will take on board learning for next year.
Unfortunately had a visit from the local badgers overnight and they decided to dig over about half of the onion raised bed Managed to salvage about 2/3 but very frustrating
Simon great film as usual that badger's in fantastic condition it looks more like a pet than a wildie. As for onions mine are doing well apart for the fact that I am growing them where I had the potatoes last year and despite my best efforts I have left some tubers in and have volunteer potatoes shooting up everywhere. Have to say that the Solent Wight garlic that I bought from a supplier and planted last November is four times the size of the supermarket bought garlic which I started off in pots and planted out in February.
Thanks Barry! Yes tatties are very difficult to clear every last one of the little ones when harvesting. I confine mine to bags now which works a treat. Your garlic sounds great and you planted it out before me by about 4 weeks, mine is looking good too ( tops) but don't know what they are like underground. Onions are doing well.

Tiptonnic, that's not good about the Badgers digging your onion bed up, I bet they won't be there in the autumn to help dig, when you need them! Lol.
very frustrating for sure, I often get similar problems with cats digging up the beds.
Tiptonnic, talking of Badgers, here is a short video I made of Badgers feeding:
