Talkback: How to grow sunflowers from seed

  I starred in trays but nothing. Started others covered in wet kitchen roll and sprouted in 2days. Now in tray waiting for them to come up to the light
  
  
  
  Presume the seeds after flower will be good for next years sunflowers?

  I have started trays of a variety of sunflowers. They all seem to grow but are all spindly then break, I tried to prop them up with straws for support but that also didn't work. Not quite time to put them out in the garden-hardening off, almost not worth it.BTW I'm in Canada  Any suggestions?
