Hello everyone

Hello everyone,

I am new to all this 'forum' things image

As spring weather is on its way, I thought I'd join my favourite television show forum.

I have posted on here about finding a new water butt - If anyone can help

    Welcome Madge.

Jump on in, it's lovely in here.

Look on freecycle, or gumtree or ebay and see if you can get one second hand.

We got ours via our water authority website as they've joined forces with Savewater.co.uk  to offer great deals on them.  It's worth looking at your own water authority's site.

Hi Madge welcome to the forum image

I am not much use on the water butt but I buy at least 200L, everyone uses loads of water in summer.  Personally I don't have a proper water butt, I just use a black bin with some netting on top to keep leaves out it works for me. I might buy a proper water butt in the future

  • There are some lovely photographs of peoples gardens on here image Exciting stuff!

That's great, will have a look. - Just been having a browse, has anyone heard of Ecosure water butts at all?

  • Yes, I am looking for a small one to go by the side of my bungalow - Not too big and ugly!

  • We got ours through the water authority too.

Hi Madge, pleased to meet you. Very friendly helpful bunch on here. And we all love cake image

  • Thank you everyone, you all seem very welcoming.

Aha, I have seen a 525 litre water butt on water-butts.net I haven't heard of them before... Although there seems to be good reviews

    Hello Madges-Plot,

    Welcome to the forum.

I've just bought via Amazon a Whitefurze G29WB 230 litre green water butt complete with lid, stand, tap & diverter kit for £43.95 inc free delivery which I thought was the best deal online for the size I wanted (it's quite big). Often you have to buy the stand and/or the diverter kit separately so I was pleased this all came together at a very reasonable price.

I only dug out the base for it yesterday so haven't fixed it up but it feels quite sturdy and strong.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello Lizzie, thanks for your comment, I'll have a look on Amazon. Quite like the fact its a UK manufacturer on water-butts.net though
