Spring Bulbs not flowering

I planted a range of bulbs last autumn for some spring colour but so far only a few snowdrops have flowered.

I planted - Crocus, Muscari, Tete-a-Tete, snow drops.

Most areas have green growth, about 1-1.5 inch high but no sign of any flowers.

What have I don't wrong? Too shaded, wet? Would they not flower in the first year after planting? Any advice greatly appreciated?

Area: York, North Yorkshire

You wont see the flower buds at only one inch or so tall, give them time. I have only just got some snowdrops out and they are the first.

If you havent noticed any rodent burrowing in them, just wait a bit.

Don't worry, I am in S. Yorkshire, and other than a few Snowdrops and Aconites peaking through the snow, there is nothing else.

    It is still winter.

Thank you. I was hoping for a bit of colour in the garden by now - I will may have to look for something else to plant for early colour for next year - any suggestions?

I'm way south, in France, but it's too early for anything but snowdrops yet.

    Hellebores will flower now.

Depends on the hellebore. My Lenten ones aren't out yet.

It was one I was given so don't know what hellebore it is.

Winter isn't a time of bright colours. You could try the red stemmed dogwoods.

When I get a dull time in my garden and go and look at other gardens and see what they have flowering.

Or a National Trust garden but they're more expensive to visit
