  • For those who are wanting to use Tesco clubcard points to buy things, can I suggest that you wait until 12th Feb? apparently Tesco are having a flash clubcard point sale and you should be able to get a lot more for your clubcard points than you can now

I've used aquarium grit in the past Bekkieimage Is pigeon cheaper?

I like Alpine grit for best Matt and I saw some at Scotsdales  (Cambridge GC) when I was down there last week. But I was in someone else's car, cleaner than mine, so left itimage

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • Not a clue, sorry Nut, been years since i had the need for aquarium grit image, if im honest, i didnt even register the price, i just brought it. Cant be that different from aquarium grit, might be a little cheaper by weight as its got bits of shell etc in,spose it might help deter slugs too .

Looks like you found a bargain Mattbeer! image

I always remember asking for fine grit at a GC and the reply was 'sorry the only fine grit we've got is coarse grit'image.

It's nothing like the bargains you've all had but I was pleased to get a good sized azalea for £3.99 in Morrisons this morning.  The assistant told me that they only get a few things for a certain period and then discount them to make room for others.  They also had a few bedding plants in - what's that aboutimage

  • just been to The Range and picked up a packet of seeds for 50p that have

chinese cabbage, aubergine, little gem lettuce, lemon basil, dill and pot basis seeds.

    Bargain.

  • My local GC often reduces plants to silly prices if they've lost their labels.  I got 3 big Primula viallii for 50p each in the autumn.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • Went to B&Q in Watford for a mooch and found 2 primulas for 50p each, two pots of flowering tete-a-tetes for 1.50 each and a substantial english lavender reduced to £4.00.

  • Back to Butters at the weekend. Picked up three containers with the small irises in for £2 each, some herbs 65p each, pulmonarias £3.25 (never see any of these near me) and some dahlia tubers.
