I dont know Susan. It only lasts a couple of days though, all the flowers have gone now.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Love David's monardas all mixed with the echinacea, that's how I would like my garden to look - a bit more work required from me I thinkimage

Great pics from Hefty again, love the bold primary colours all mixed. Charming steps with the sea thrift (?) and scabious too.

Firecracker, can I ask what that tree is with the butterflies stuck on it? I'm looking for something like that, columnar and close set leaves...

    Wearside, England.

Absolutely wonderful pics everybody. I envy all the lushness! The drought and absurd heat here (well over 40*C daily on our south-facing hillside) is turning my poor newly planted garden to a brown wasteland image.

I bring our ducks to the shadiest coolest place we have in the afternoons, our woodland garden with the pond.

An opium poppy out of a free packet of mixed seed. Five foot tall and about 8 inch across, not to mention the magnificent purple colour. Al my other opium poppies are a pale pink.

The climbing rose is standing up to the wet weather well. It only flowers once, but it is wonderful for two weeks. I grew this from seed as Rosa filipes, but this seedling had larger flowers with a pink blush back and flowers a week later. I will be taking hardwood cuttings off it this year if anyone would like it. It needs a big space. It is currently covering a hawthorn and is as high as the house. The main stem is thicker than my arm.

Philadelphus "Virginal" appears to have recovered from last years hack down. The perfume is divine.
