  • Lots of good advice above. I tried sweet pea Cupid last year and loved it: proper sweet pea perfume on dwarf, slightly trailing plants with small flowers in several pretty sweet pea colours. Its going to be a regular on my list from now on.

Hoping to get them big enough plants by end ish of April to go to the container talk at Hillier and get free compost to see if I can make the hanging baskets up for a lot cheaper than normal

I was poundstretcher earlier. I picked up a pack containing 2 biodegradable  round mats full of seed designed for hanging baskets. You just plant and water. I've never used them before.  I'm not expecting much, but I decide to give them a shot. Has anyone tried them?

I know someone who tried them, they were fine, but not brilliant.

Garden girl, I've just sown some of those basket petunias today.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
