Is it too late to plant alliums?? (January) I bought some earlier but haven't had the chance to plant them ..... they are large bulbs and need to be planted 8" down which will be hard in my clay soil (especially now it's covered in snow). What should I do with them??

You need to plant them-they will not keep-if you cannot get them in the ground pot them up as was suggested previously

Hi everybody, please advice me, I have had a lovely show from my allium purple sensation bulbs and I am now collecting seeds.
i have left a couple in the ground as I would like them to self seed.
my question is can I transplant little seedlings if I get them and will they grow as tall or are they quite different? Thanks
I don't find they look much different in the next generation but they probably gradually change over generations. And yes, you can transplant them

Hi everybody, I'm new to alliums. Planted bulbs in late August & they are now showing through soil, is this a problem?
