My resolution is to keep on top of the weeding this year. And do as many garden visits as I can manage to fit in. Hopefully will meet up with some of you there.
will also revive my garden note taking. I keep a diary (somewhat sporadically) but it is hard to look back and find a particular plant name unless you can remember the date you planted it. So i have just ordered alphabet tabs for a lovely notebook that Chicklet gave me for Christmas, and will write it all down in an index as well - i HATE it when I can't remember the name of a plant because the label has gone walkabout.
my notebook has only managed to record the names of some of things I have bought before I lose the labels....and of course I know what the two pots of seeds on the kitchen windowsill are....don't I?
as I watch bulbs coming up in countless pots my resolution is to actually plant them in the garden so that I don't have the annual autumn faff of trying to identify dormant bulbs and get them re-planted ....trouble is I know they will revert to their usual pattern of being dug up when I plant something later in the year.
I bought a notebook last year, meant to enter what I'd bought, where I'd planted it, what other plants were on my wish list etc etc. But its on scrappy bits of paper tucked in a folder.
So this year I will use my note book properly!!!
I also want to get an arch....something I wanted last year! And also a pergola.
Also want to expand the veg plot and try more types of veg etc.
My resolution is simple enough, more flowers! Coming back to gardening last year it was all clearing up rubbish, growing veg, major construction and an awful lot of spade work. Still have plenty more work along those lines for this year, but it will feel a lot better with a bit of colour back in the garden. I've got some bulbs in already so hopefully will see some results soon to keep me going as all the seeds germinate.
I'm planning to have a wiggly rill that will follow the edge of a flower bed - so that it will be less formal than the picture above - and probably less successful if my building skills are anything to go by. I'm doing it on a shoe string so nothing expensive.I'm in the process of taking up the tiles from old kennels at the end of the garden to use as edging, they aren't cemented in thank goodness!

Not to sow too many seeds! Note to self, do I really want to send two days pricking them out

By the look of my flowers count I will have to pay attention to winter plants for next year.
I promise that instead of wandering round saying 'I'll have to trim/weed/cut that', I'll do the job immediately

I will not let natural or man made disasters get me down. There are always plenty of things to enjoy in the garden.
