That is definitely Phlomis Russeliana as Dave now knows. I have lots in my garden. But as Nut says, it needs sorting out, looks rather tatty and compacted.

I had removed the spent flower heads already on the phlomis. I have to see what the client wants to do with it, it's a small area but I have the rest of the garden to sort out first, it's huge, I'll be working till christmas eve on it and beyond so I have my work cut out. May be more ID's to come as she's a bit of a plant collector. Thanks all I really appreciate it.
Absolutely, definitely, honestly, without a shadow of a doubt, truthfully speaking, I am certain, 100%, your tree is an ACER GRISEUM. My favourite tree, and have one in Garden. Slow grower.
