Schefflera dying off

Hi again and let me thank all for the help given in the past. I now have a new problem due to my once healthy Schefflera beginning to droop and stems falling off yet still looking healthy. As you will see in the pics ive attached what was a very bushy plant is now becoming threadbare. Any tips to rescue my plant would be most appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

I dont see any natural light near the plant. It should be near a window or such but not in direct sunlight.
Over watering can cause the leaves to brown and drop too.
I find Schlefferas thrive on being under watered with the soil usually on the dry side.
Cheers Matt your help is appreciated and ihave put the plant in better light. I did have this near patio doors getting full daylight when an odd leaf would fall. Then more fell so i moved to a warmer part of the house as you have noticed it was duller. I dont know if the plant will recover but if not i shall try taking cuttings and start agai.
Many thanks
I find cuttings take well in a 50/50 mixture of grit or sharp sand and multi purpose compost. Mine was about 4ft tall but was rather leggy, so cut it down to 6" and then chopped the removed stem into 6" pieces and buried each half way into pots filled with the 50/50 mixture. Nearly all of them rooted on a windowsill and the original plant sprouted shoots from the 6" stump that remained.
PS: I agree that they do need good light.
Fab advice Bob i shall do as you have done with cuttings as base of plant stem is still healthyso hopefully one plant should become many.
Hi Chad, I made the mistake of moving mine to a shady spot last year and lost a lot leaves. I moved it back to a very sunny spot at the front door. New shoots appeared where the old leaves fell. I seem to have the same problem with rotating.
Hi Shelley seems this is my problem as i too put mine in a shadier place so now its back to where it was originally. The stem is very bare now will new shoots appear back on this if this is the problem?
I should think so, but I'm no expert. Give it a good feed when you see new growth.
Ok thanks i will take heed and do so another problem i found is it was also water logged after poking the hole in bottom of pot and water seeping out.
Yeah they don't like sitting in water. Make sure it has drainage, a bit of gravel at the bottom of the pot. Keep me posted.
I did put pebbles at the bottom the last time i re-potted it so maybe i didn't take enough care to ensure drainage but after the advice i have had from here i'm now wiser as to their care realising its been my fault. I will let you know what happens and thank you for your good help.
