Hello here is my one I made this year at Inexcess shop with help, the lady doing demo had a wire circle then uses straw to put around and wraps wire over it so you get a straw circle on top of the wire frame - then used a green plastic tape but you can use cut up bin liners wrap around so you have a green fat circle
Then place the fir tree bits on wrap wire around to secure them in place then the same with the holly just don't wrap as many times around with the wire fiddly and prickly bit - just make sure it is tight enough
Then it was adding fir cones using a bit of wire around the bottom and poking them in the plastic and straw base till they went in well and same with decorations I went with the bows, also added some plastic holly red berries they were on wire just poked them in
Adding a pull string bow and done - make sure you do the shake test so nothing falls off
Just to show the early stages of my two wreaths for 2014... Last week was taken up with visits to distant 'relies' in the Midlands. Now it's back to the work bench and 'adorning those basic shapes. .. More news/ pics anon...
Sorry, folks: The 'smart' ones amongst you may have noted that the two previous pics are merely two stages in the development of the same wreath! Third pic shows palm / phormium 'cladding' for the 2nd intended wreath; much heavier pattern so as to withstand wind/ weather etc on the outside streetside front door. [The lighter weight one goes on the inner rippled glass door of the porch]. {see much earlier posted pic, ie 2013 wreath}.
