I do have a fake wreath which comes out every year, but I make a huge garland to go over the fire mantle piece and on top of our kitchen units. We have fir trees, holly etc in the garden, but the best decoration is from our Strawberry tree as it has lovely big red and yellow berries this time of year. I dont bother with a Christmas tree as we dont have kids, and they are so expensive.

You're right gina - especially to feed and clothe....
It's ok - I knew what you meant
I always used to do a garland for the top of mantlepieces when I had them. Had a set of lights that I draped through them and just used whatever greenery I had in the garden and added some small baubles and big pillar candles on dishes in amongst it. Those glass lanterns with some greenery round them would look good on a mantle.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Great to see all your lovely efforts - gorgeous garlands, swags, wreaths etc, and such a wide range of 'creative' approaches using home-grown and foraged materials!
*I feel the creative juices begining to stir; so I might just do the basic 'plaiting' with hazel & dogwood, palm and phormium this weekend....

I have a bought wreath, but I make up bunches of greenery from the garden to decorate the house.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lovely Busy Liz.
Usually have a fake wreath that I add bits to, but might make one like yours this year.
