I am hoping phlomis bracteosa will prove as sturdy, but not as invasive, as the russelliana. Aquilegas are lovely and I let them self seed more or less where they like.

I have a Potentilla fruticosa 'Goldfinger that I have had for over 5 years and it consistently does nothing much,so that will go.
My garden gets very dry in the summer and even 'drought resistant' plants have had a hard time, many have just not grown at all.
Going to have a go with more things like Sedum,Euphorbias etc.
It is strange how some things grow well in one garden and not in another.
My Mum gave me an Osmanthus heterophyllus that had been in her garden for several years and was a disappointment,it took off straight away in my garden and is now 4 feet high and needs a good trim each year! Yet I have another variety in my front garden and is still struggling after 4 years, maybe I shall move it next year.

I dug out a Phlomis fruticosa this year. Replaced with touchwood Aquilegias.

Today's outcasts were physostegia (as much as poss) to make room for an aster pink cloud and some new geums.
Also banished from hanging out with the other plants was the least nice of two pink lavatera so I can move a gingery helenium.
I'm on the lookout now for other space wasters
Edd I'm sure I can hear someone shouting for help that you could go and rescue
Are you going a tad stir fry?
