I took my son to the IOW as he loved fossils and he interogated the poor chap who had spent 3 years cleaning the same  fossil !!

I did a lot of travelling about as a result of a strange educational situation.  Away during the week, home every weekend.  My abiding memory of 6 years of secondary education is sitting on the coach steps being very ill.  I think for a long time after there would have been a few drivers who were only too thankful when they were no longer blessed with my presence. image .  Trains were OK until they changed from steam to diesel, smoothed out the journey and speeded things up then the trains joined the ranks of cars, buses, coaches, boats and planes which I suffered on.  A matter of balance I think as I could not stay on roller or ice skates, or bicycles or horses or even upturned gym benches.  I could beat everybody to the top of the ropes though.

NB2 Hope your son is still into fossils and yes some of them take a lot of sorting out which makes them expensive at times.  I have quite a few from the chalk round here but I also collect beautiful minerals.

ps What's a madpenguin doing on the IoW anyway?

I go to work, it's dark and inevitably raining. I leave work, and it's dark and inevitably raining. So no chance of going to either allotment during the week, unless I take a day off.

So come the weekend, it might not be dark but it's still inevitably bloody raining!
