I'm not sure why but foxgloves grow on slowly in pots in my garden, but in the ground they grow huge in a matter of a few weeks! Maybe it's down to them having a tap root.
Hi everyone, I have just returned to the UK after 9 years in Oz (although originally from there) and have bought myself a little cottage in Wiltshire whose garden is a blank canvas. I hope to get a cottage garden going in the front of the house for next spring and will be looking to this site for ideas, as you guys seem to know your stuff. I have never attempted a cottage garden before and a good start would be to know what to grow in relation to height. Does anyone know of sights where I can get ideas. I look forward to some interesting chats over the coming months.
I agree Charlie. I sowed my foxgloves in May. Grew them on in pots and planted them out around August. They have really kicked on with big rosettes of leaves now.
