I thought they be ok still. They are decent size plants now, no frost forecast next week yet so hopefully I will have a nice display of white foxgloves mixed with some purple sensation alliums .
Thinking what to plant at the front of the border to cover the bottom of the FG and alliums somthing about 18inch tall . i got some Daffs but i think they be finished by the time the FG and alliums start flowering
I put some of mine in last week Perki. Weather has got considerably worse this week but I reckon they'd still be fine.
Its so odd this year. I've got roses in bloom... in November! I reckon all sorts will blossom and sprout next year, out of sync. Quite exciting really!
Thanks for the ideas, if I get chance to plant the foxgloves out I will do otherwise i wait to next spring. I am not a big fan of euphobias but that geum looks great, i think i try and track some of them down.
Brilliant idea Verdun! Yesterday I planted foxgloves and a geum "Totally Tangerine". I also planted some tulips and forget-me-nots. The geum is quite big already and foxgloves do OK through the winter here, usually seed themselves and slugs don't eat them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I've planted mine out - purely because the squirrels kept investigating the pots they were in and I thought they had better take their chances in the ground where the squirrels leave them alone. I sowed my foxgloves in spring and they are still pretty tiny - would have preferred to keep them protected till spring but oh well! I'll be surprised if they flower next summer, but all depends on how hard winter is I guess. Certainly getting watered in nicely with all this rain!

Still time to put plants in the ground as long as it isn't frozen.
Too late to sow seed to flower next year.

Aquilegias are good. Nice foliage to hide the allium stems.

I agree with Verdun, will plant mine out in Spring, bigger plants under shelter through the winter and you can keep an eye on the slugs.
