Maybe you need a wheeled stool http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00667C52C/ref=s9_simh_gw_p86_d3_i4?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0YCPPD3R6TTGGMMQFCP8&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455344027&pf_rd_i=468294
For me I can't do anything without my kneeling pad, they do some lovely ones in home base by Laura Ashley designers
If Katie needs one that helps get up and down I would advise the strong sturdy plastic types which can also be used as a stool. I can't do links on here but places like Argos do them and I know my mum uses all the time
I have a good metal stool kneeling pad, when in the kneeling position it is a couple of inches off the soil so when I turn it the pad is not wet or dirty. The strong legs make it ideal for lowering yourself down and getting up again, a good pad either side makes it comfortable and it gets well used, definitely one of the best tools in my collection I would not be without it plus it cost me nothing it was a present, best of all worlds.
Frank.
I have one as Frank describes above, very good but I still prefer knee pads; I get the JCB ones from B&Q. They are made for big fat men's legs, so I shorten the strap by sewing it, to fit my skinny legs
. They also keep my knees warm when gardening in winter.
I misread that Artjak - I thought you sewed the pads to your legs!!!!!!!!!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Frank has it got a name on it please
I'll try to remember to look at mine 2morrow Alan
