It's a shame my neighbours aren't a bit more friendly, i'd ask if I could use their gardens since they don't bother with them. Then again, even my smallish garden takes a while to look after, so I guess bigger ones can be very time consuming.
Haha i'll have to make a visit, and then report back Philippa. I guess it's a good way of meeting people as well, which is good as i'm always up for a good natter.
My small garden is full now, brimming, I'd say and I've put myself on the allotment list. I'm hoping for lots of interference and chit chat from my neighbouring plotters.
I don't know any gardeners really and now I'm learning to propagate things I'm only too happy to rip bits of plant off for people.
You should go on the wish list thread Ice Twin, plenty of free stuff going begging on there
I got my greenhouse frame for free out of the bargain pages i think. I was given a parrafin greenhouse heater, a bench, most of my tools, manure, lots of free plants, most of this stuff was when i had my allotments, the guys that came to tarmac the path left me their big rake too
Here comes the cheesy bit! My best "freebies" have been from the folks on here, its so nice to recieve a bit of someones garden, and that a person i have never met takes the time to post stuff to me, i really love it!
Wow you have been lucky with the freebies Bekkie, and i'm going to check out the plant freebies on here, it must be nice to see other members growing plants from those in your garden.
I often lurk on ebay and our local gumtree free section. There's not been anything local yet, other than some slabs, but i'll still keep an eye out because you never know
I've had a few plants for free but at this moment in time my best freebie has to be my tin bath my mum gave me last week, I am absolutely made up with it but just not sure what to do with it yet.
