I will have sun gold and green zebra heirloom tomato seed if anyone's interested.it will be dried on demand so may take a couple of weeks on my window sill.
You don't have to pickle gherkins, they are a sort of baby cucumber, but do not have a lot of taste. Pickling is best.
I make a pickling vinegar using malt vinegar, a dessertspoon of sugar, a dessertspoon of honey and a dash of Balsamic vinegar. Warm all together in a saucepan, let cool a little, then add to your gherkins packed into glass jars [with a vinegar proof lid.]
thanks for the explination Mel, but that all sounds a bit much for me, im usually the one who takes the pickles off a sandwich! i do have a soft spot for growing curcubits, think it must be how fast they grow. thanks for the offer Clare
What are curcubits bekkie , are they the little stripey fruits ? I've grown these and pickled some as a decor ative jars for the kitchen top..wouldn't eat them now after five years , should imagine they're be yukki. !

Thank you Forester for the seeds, sorry for not getting back sooner. I received them mid week. I haven't tried that variety before.
I had a good tidy through my seed box, alot went out of date this year so haven't got as many as I thought to swap.
Lettuce - little gem, Rocket and carrots - nantes 5, all good to 2017
Also cauliflower - all the year round and winter aalsmeer, it's probably to late to sow these this year but they are good to 2017/2016.
Will also have home saved chilli, toms and bean seeds later in the year.
