A garden is the best medicine

  • I am just recovering from food poisoning, and am popping out in the garden for little bits at a time to potter. I feel so much better doing that than sat inside in front of the television. So, yes. I agree, a garden is the best medicine. Even sat inside my kitchen looking out on it makes me feel better image

Tripped over my own foot and fell flat on my face on the terrace David image  It could've been worse - I smashed my face and shoulder on some big flowerpots, but luckily I found the plastic ones and not the big terracotta ones - I could've lost my teeth! image

Really sorry to hear this, Dove...bet you're driving him indoors potty! image

  • Dove sorry to hear about your misfortunate acrobatics, a net comes in handy and saves a lot of pain. The North Sea mist came back yesterday so it was not a good day in the garden, instead it was chat and laughter in the house with three grandchildren and two Daughters all making those rubber band bangle thingees. They ate my cake and biscuits though a small price to pay for the joy of seeing them all.

Today has not started any better, it was dull and dark when I got up, at least I now feel up to cooking Sunday lunch, the last two were NHS though must say very good considering the press they get, now where is all that veg I was not allowed to eat before the op.

    Frank.

    Glad you're recovering well Frank/Dad.image

I have to agree with the comments about Margaret on G'sW. What a great advert for spending lots of time outdoors.

MrsT - you're right. Looking out at the garden, even on a wet day, is good medicine. On a warm day, bees buzzing, birds singing...and just silence otherwise. What else could you ask for? Simple pleasures.  Hope you're better soon image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
