Without saying, sweet peas of course which you already grow. I also had a cutting patch on the allotment this year with cosmos (easy to grow from seed, bees love them and the last quite well as a cut flower) and dahlias (not the huge ornate ones as not overly keen on them, but the single variety, Bishops children, also grown from seed), also have a lilac which self seeded from somewhere else so I popped it in the corner (also good as a cut flower), a border with wildflower seeds scattered on it (cornflowers, poppies etc).
I had a day at the allotment yesterday marking out a bed to dig over with the intention to plant bulbs before november. The soil isn't too good so working compost into 'single dig' trenches, then will let the weather do the rest. The week is getting too hot for digging!
Mattbeer - made a start today with your idea as I have bought a huge bag of daffodils and narcissi so plan to plant tomorrow. I have also bought a packet of cornflowers. I met one of the allotmanteers this morning who had been cropping raspberries and she also had a huge bunch of dahlias which she had grown this year so will give those a go too.
Forester2 I have Mr Fothergill's seed catalogue and so many good flowers for growing as cut flowers some tall ageratum they look good so you get fluffy cut flowers and so many more goodies

Great pictures GardenGirl. I'm getting the idea that daisy type flowers could be seeded directly in the plot and would not get eaten.
Lots of fabulous ideas. SFord - I can't control slugs and my worry would be that dahlias would get eaten when they are young.
Mine have had a few nibbles this year but seem to be okay, they havent touched the cosmos though!
thought of another one to grow Antirrhinum there are so many colours to chose from and would look good in a vase
Great photos Gardengirl, just what I n
