It is the old question, is it a show or a dance competition? The BBC make a show of it for those millions of people who never found the joy of Ballroom dancing, those wonderful nights in the Hammersmith or Locarno's not to mention the Blackpool Tower, club dancing or dancing round your hand bag and that was only the men, does not give an insight in to two people flowing round a room in complete harmony hence the extras, eye candy.
Mark had only a few hours practice because of his day job and Karen had to make it simple she is a good choreographer normally, the Salsa was never one of my dances it was sit out time for me, Latin was Tango, slow or fast, Rumba and Paso, the jive was for the kids penned into the corners of the hall, did it on the odd occasion and not good at it. Jake or Mark next week and then the dancing begins though if anything like other years more Gymnastics than dance. Some may not like Caroline the person but boy can she dance, I would have loved to dance with her in my hay day, long gone now.
The professionals have to produce a decent choreography to last a whole 90 seconds plus a bit of intro if they like. In two hours yesterday, our salsa teacher taught 14 couples to do a bachata figure that lasts 40 seconds and each week at salsa class he teaches a similar nuber one or two new figures so even a few hours should have been enough for Mark to learn a decent bit of salsa armography.
It all looked too much like samba to me and her samba style tail didn't help either.
I also think 90 seconds is entertainment enough and they can always add more pro dances or guests if they like rather than confusing the issue with guest dancers in the competition part. Seems to me that the production team is losing its nerves and thinks the show needs more gimmicks. It doesn't.

I suppose the completion has reached the stage where it would be a shame to see any of them leave....however, my guess would be for it to be either Mark, Jake or Frankie.
Caroline for me tonight, what a Tango fast and slow sections as it should be and the correct music for once, wow and wow again. Simon definitely on the up. Jake where did he come from, I actually enjoyed his dance tonight the first time for that. Pixie a maybe, Frankie and Mark not quite up there tonight but I would not make the call. It is wait and see what the GBP have to say then the judges, roll on tomorrow.
Enjoyed them all, Caroline outstanding, but really wouldn't like to say who for the dance off and then it really will be a proper dance off perhaps for the first time.
After that think so much will be down to choreography and luck of the draw with the dance favouring the dancer. All great entertainment.

I wouldn't like to predict the dance off, but hope Jake wasn't in it, don't know where he'd find the energy to repeat that performance so soon afterwards.
Did feel sorry for Frankie as Kevin had been ill during the week, when we saw the preview of the week I thought she might be dancing with Brendan as a stand in as he was present upstairs.
