Just a few inches is enough, I have devised a highly illegal but clever way of removing standing water, I just need it not to sneak in and drown the lawn mower!
OK so assuming the current greenhouse is already standing on a base,a single slab of ready-mix at 100mm would raise the floor by 4". Unless you're expecting some serious flooding, that should be easily high enough. Three courses of brickwork is 225mm high, which sounds like overkill to me. Plus unless you've laid bricks,is going to be time consuming. I was in the building trade before becoming a carer for my wife. Though if you have ready-mix,get a couple of mates in to help - you don't want to be looking at a lot of wet concrete by yourself. Good luck mate
