Thanks for that Liz, if people don't want to know about Christmas or Christians, why not just be quite about it. I haven't posted much on here lately and really don't want to post here any more at all.

i know people who have found a lot of comfort in Faith, don't knock it.

The world would be a much better place if a few more followed the 10 commandments, it's not the world that's a horrible place it's some of the people in in it.

Thank you, Lyn. When my first OH died and when my 2nd OH's wife died before he met me we both found the people who helped and supported us were Christians.

  • BL ((hugs)) Don't think its 'cos they're worse than everyone else - it's 'cos some wear the label, but don't do what it says on the tin - that makes it seem worse image

But many people are good and kind and go the extra mile.  Whether they do it because of their faith or because of their love for the rest of humanity, or both ... that's up to them ... it's much appreciated whatever the reason ... it's what makes the world bearable. image

  • Having just read Verdun's last post, I don't think that " ... being judgemental, insincere and pharisee-like ... " is restricted to people of faith or those of none ... sadly.

I have known Humanists who seemed to be competing to be the most inhumane people in existence image

The bible says 'Judge not that ye be not judged' ... not a bad creed for everyone, Christian or not.

I started this thread for us to support our Forum friends who had worries and concerns, I would appreciate it if we could use the thread for that purpose.

  • I don't want to get into this debate, but in a supportive way I just wanted to say that I have met Bizzie Lizzie on numerous occasions and have always found her very kind and sincere, certainly not boastful or pretentious.image

Broad and sweeping generalisations are never a good thing I say - in a broad and sweeping generalisation sort of way. imageimage
