Lyn - sorry I had to laugh. Not at you or your Dad bless him,but myself. That could easily have been Mrs F talking to me while I'm on this laptop image

Bekkie - your OH sounds like my 15 year old daughter. I'm sure she thinks the housework fairies take care of everything image

The housework fairy does a brill job in this household, the sock fairy, the pant fairy, and now the pond fairy, my dad absolutely loves it, he goes down the every day and just sits quietly.

I was laughing my head off after that conversation with him, I thought it was like one of those jokes that would just go on and on.

Definitely Job, but what a lovely lot of comforters we have here.

KEF, a good point well made.....sometimes we can be too trusting and do need to be careful image

Lily, I'm glad your friend is home and fingers crossed her health continues ti improve and she makes a full recovery.

Lyn, your post could have been me and my OH on a daily basis...usually when I'm trying to communicate and he is on the football forum - he is only 41!!!  Seriously though, it must be so hard when parents get older, I'm not there yet and I'm dreading it already image

OL you will cope, because you have too. I was very lucky that we had the chance to build the extension onto my parents bungalow 4 years ago when they were both quite fit. We have all gradually grown into it and its all now very well accepted.

We all jog along nicely at the moment, hopefully it will stay like this till the end.

  • I've just spoken to my poorly friends daughter. My friend is now in bed with Shingles. Apparently she has it quite bad, its on one side and on her face as well. And on the edge of her eyelids. I do so wish I lived nearer to help her.
