Sometimes I go back to the garden after a lunch break and I can't see enough to do anything except stuff the shredder. If I put a tool down I can't find it and the low sun gets in my eyes.
Apart from that I love the winter works in the garden, tree cutting, pruning and major works of alteration.
The shredder has just been taken into the operating theatre for major surgery and I've already got a pile of stuff to put through.
Sitting outside this afternoon in the sunshine, really lovely but the grass is covered in oak leaves. Looks more like the end of october on a sunny day than the beginning of September.
Had to rescue a large Dragonfly from the conservatory today. Delphiniums about to re-flower - lovely warm day for friends who came all the way from London to have lunch
I really miss the quieter hours with the bird song before the world and his wife got going on the daily round.
Noticed the suns angle has changed too, with leaves droppong from the cherry tree it shows through and casts a different light over the garden at sunset

Oh Nut
Perhaps Mr. Nut could make you a miner's lamp that you wear on your forehead
...and small lights on your gardening gloves
Good idea artjak

But have noticed how early it is getting dark
And has anyone noticed the darker mornings!

Oh, Fishy65, don't remind us
please. Really hate drawing the curtains so early, it's as if there is no evening - just day and night.
Only kidding guys. But look at it this way...the sooner those days get here the sooner it will be spring again
If it's A***** then why is my grass growing so much
