Can u actually create a poisonous liquid fertilizer

I am a newby and have made a liquid fertilizer from a plastic bin with a tap below about 10inches off floor level to drain off liquid. I 've put in raw kitchen scraps and water and added some purchased liquid fertilizer for gud measure?-yee of no faith! After a month when lifting lid it smells attrocious, is this normal…
