Thanks for the suggestion, Artjak.  I'll check it out...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Artjak, you have a terrace! How wonderful, can you see into the field from it? I read you had ordered some solar lights, they are lovely and work really well, your OH will be pleasantly surprised how good they are image

Pansyface and Fairy girl -  I'm still waiting for my Polish Spirit to do anything (put in this spring) so I think it must have snuck through to my next door neightbour's side.  Has anyone got a photo of what I should be expecting if it decides to come back to me?

In reverse I have gained a honeysuckle that has snuck through to my side.

Im afraid im "that" neighbour, i planted a russian vine against the fence when we first moved in, as soon as i knew what id done, i pulled it out, unfortunately its gone under the fence and grows through their hedge! image

I have given them tons of plants, so their front garden looks lovely, but there is too much foot ball by the grandkids for anything to grow in the back garden image

Im not having a go, but i dont understand why people cut a border around their lawn, keep the soil cultivated, but never plant anything???? image

i have some laylandi trees at the bottom of the garden. i  wish i could get rid of them and plant some more plants. they suck all the moisture from the border and most of the plants dont do well there. the good bit though is, it stops the unruly kids from playing their ball into the garden and jumping my fence to retrieve their ball and affords me a bit of privacy from the flat at the back of the garden.
