Ive got a very nice purple clematis growing over from my neighbours side (not in flower at the moment.  Somehow some of it got buried in the soil on my side of the garden.  Wonder what will happen.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

No ! All I get are weeds -constant battle, and ivy - constant cutting back ! But they get my honeysuckle, clematis and jasmine - flowering beautifully on their side ha. Why can everyone not love and want to have nice gardens boo

Our neighbours ornamental quince has suckered through to our side and I couldn't be happier.  It has beautiful red/pink flowers and will help hide away another hideous fence panel.  Result!  image

Nothing grows over from my neighbour's garden, but from my terrace I can see the top of a Kerria that seems to have been flowering for months and the red berries of a Rowan.image

Of course from the back field I get; thistles, convulvulus, cleavers growing up and into my Campsis, nettles, hogweed etc. But hey, I chose to live in the country all I have to do is be vigilant and pull 'em up.image

When we moved here 7 years ago, our neighbours' japanese knotweed was beginning to stray into our garden... image  With their permission I go onto their land every August/September (it's a really steep slope & they do nothing with it) and spray all the knotweed I can reach, with strong glyphosate.  It's receded so I no longer feel threatened - and there's definitely none left on my side of the fence.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Liri, I have a feeling that they are supposed to report it to their Council if they have it growing there. I may be wrong, but it is worth checking.
