Thank you, I have to say that I prefer the other border with the soft gentle penstemons in. I have put them on the Star in your garden thread.

those Montretias just take over if you let them and I dug loads of them out this spring.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Looks great Lyn, (not been on star thread yet), my montbretias aren't flowering much as yet, but the Lucifer is doing well. I love the orange expolosion when they do but yes they need a lot of keeping in check. Note to self - must widen borders so my garden looks as good as Lyn'simage

Love echinaceas - only have pink ones - prima donna and pink parasol (grew the latter from seed).  Luckily they got going before the slugs started marauding this yearimage

I've lost all my echinaceas - again. Had several tries they just don't like this garden, nor do montbretias, nor lupins. Lysimachia punctata adores it, blast it! Dahlias are quite happy. Heleniums, after a couple of false starts, have settled in. Weeds think my garden is great!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
