Secateurs.....bin them or sharpen them

I have a really great pair of secateurs but they are getting abit blunt-can anyone recommend either how to sharpen them or somewhere I can get them sharpened or is it best to get a new pair (loathed to do this!!) cheers

You can buy lots of devices for sharpening secateurs -check on-line or at DIY store
Most small hardware shops will have a sharpening service or will send them way to be sharpened-it just depends on cost if it worth having it done
Definitely sharpen them. You can buy a sharpening steel and it just takes a few minutes - at least that's what my husband does when I hand him my blunt secateurs
I went to my local hardware shop to buy something to sharpen my secateurs and they said there was no demand so they had nothing to offer me.
Can anyone suggest something that they know works.
My OH disappears into the garage with my secateurs and comes back with them lovely and sharpe. He has got some sort of stone that he used to sharpen everything, knives, shears, scissors,.lawnmower blades, if fact I daren't say anything is blunt.

Years ago there used to be knife sharpeners that came round the streets, they would sharpen scissors knives, etc. I suppose as we now live in a throw away society, quite sad really, they're gone the same way as the rag and bone man.

We have a knife-sharpening man , Mr Moss, who comes round every few months, he does my garden implements and axe but I don't give him my best knives and dressmaking scissors.
Chris can you ask him exactly what he has?

Kate, Will do, but at the moment he is having forty winks, he's worn out with all the decorating.
