Sixteen years wow! Maybe I'll get more blooms in time, think mine is only a year old but I'm not the worlds most patient gardener But was very please it came back blue, have no idea how that happened Really pleased with my hydrangeas this year, must have been the frost free wet winter. Most of them I brought for indoors then plant out when they have finished. Had some really pretty ones which I put on the forum last week
would love to see pic of your pond and plant in situ
I have a large collection of vases of different shapes and sized picked up from various places but also use things like jam jars and a small glass olive oil bottle which makes a great vase for a single rose.
Alot of foliage comes from the garden but flowers are mainly from a cutting bed I have put in on the allotment. My garden is not huge and I like to keep the flowers from there, in situ.
I like the idea for a single rose and will rummage around the cupboard, sure to be odd things I could use ( well, I know there is just keep closing the doors!)
Beaus Mum, do you mind if I ask SFord about flowers on the allotment on this thread?
Artjak, that is the best jug I have seen for large blooms, holds them naturally. The Gladioli reminds me of Carol Kleins comments last night on RHS Tatton, a very stately flower
Yviestevie lovely posies and see what you mean about using wine glasses - just right.
The small hydrangea blooms I used would look good in indvidual glasses, they were part of a mid-summer prune as the stems are too thin to support the head of the flower. Looking at the gathering clouds I think more blooms are going to get beaten down
Have you put a photo on the 'Garden' thread star gaze lily? I think I saw some although they could have been on one of the 'Gardens visited' threads. I don't have space for more than the one and just leave it to grow as it will.

Ooh Beaus Mum love the birdy jug and the flowers are gorgeous. Ive took a couple of pics today
.
The few remaining roses that were on Gloriana yesterday before I moved her.
A couple of sweet pea posies that I have had to display in wine glasses because the stems are so short this year.

Lol Beaus mum, yes it is me that has a jug fetish, love them.
I've got a few hydrangas, one is pure white which was here when we moved in. It was quite big then. I think its over 20 years old.
