Waste of time Lyn, i do ALL of the digging, i honestly think he is purely ornamental! Plus, it would be cheaper to pay someone than feed him for a day!
I get a lot of gifts from my cat which I thought were snakes. But later found out they are slow worms. They move pretty quick for something called slow worms
My Jack Russell caught and killed a shrew/vole type creature this a.m. as we were out on a walk. I am praying she does not catch sight of the snake as she would probably go for it.
Grass snakes like Adders are relatively harmless and are more frightened of us than we are of them. Being as they are relatively rare nowadays, it's a an honour to have them in your garden. Your'e obviously doing something right for the wildlife.
On the wild life theme; this morning whilst walking small mutt (we went on a mammoth 2 hour walk) I was looking at a wheat field and saw some tiny antlers; it was a Muntjack. We looked at each other for about 30 seconds, he moved his head, I moved mine, he then leapt off flying gracefully over the wheat to the far side of the field. Just beautiful. I will have to take the camera out in future

Sadly, Flossie Flo is too short to see a little brown face appearing above the wheat.
Next time I will lift her up to see.
