The SIMPLE version ! I think GW has been much much better than it now is with MD and at Long Meadow. Who ever is responsible for content and situation is irrelevant, this is a personal observation and you don't have to agree with me. Of course there is still some good content, I have never argued with that but anyone living in this century would agree that it's slow and not nearly as good as it was or should be. Long Meadow is a poor setting because it's, boring, unrepresentative of most modern gardens and old fashioned. The show had strayed into content that has no place on GW and I think it needs a complete rethink. That's it. AT is irrelevant in any genre. Point made. I'm off to do something interesting with my life. Thanks for the entertainment, I havn't laughed so much on one of these bloggs in my life. Enjoy your gardens.

You see, that's my point - I don't depend on tv programmes or fashion to design my gardens - I use my own ideas and gain inspiration from visiting gardens with content by wonderful designers such as Xa Tollemache here at http://www.hha.org.uk/Property/52/Helmingham-Hall-Gardens. I watch GW for technique.
And although I've been gardening for 57 years (or since I was 3) I do not resent time taken on GW to teach and encourage new gardeners.
But then it does take all sorts to make a world ; healthy debate is always good, and I'll enjoy my gardening again when my back's better -
@Doctor63, if you've got any left bung some over this way - it'll be ages 'til our tatties are baked

Boring show last night
Surely there are other topical issues than grasses and veg?? It doesn't help that it is filmed 2 weeks before transmission
