Pansies all wilting :-(

Hello,

Just got back from work and to my horror, looked outside and seen all my pansies are wilting.

They are planted in a container and have been water + feed regular.

Was only the other day i was thinking how strong they looked.

Any ideas what might have caused this? everyone is wilting and dropped.

So starnge they were fine yesterday image((

Not sure it will be realted, but there is also a dwarf buddleia plannted in the conatiner too.

Many thanks

The buddleia won't like the container and the watering. They prefer dryish conditions. As for the pansies, the heat of the day will wilt most things in containers by the evening, but they will recover.

  • Hii my pansies have gone the same it looked to me that they had some kind of root o rot as I just touched them and they came right out of the soil

Did you check for vine weevil, Sandra? They often attack the roots

  • I have pansies in a pot. As Dave says, they do react very quickly to lack of water. They also react very quickly to being watered and will perk back up in a few hours

If they came straight out of the soil with little root it's very likely vine weevil.  Dig deeper in the pot and you'll probably find the nasty things.  Throw it all away - but not on to the compost heap!
