Daily, try to do in the morning but like4th panda can't always get up early enough image So then it gets done after work! But prefer morning, so not all wet and attractive to slugs n snails. Feed twice a year with chicken manure and rose crystals plus FYM topping, then my baskets with tomato food weekly if remember ha.

Always in the evening, Friday is feed day for me.

  • I seldom water my borders unless I have put new plants in. The borders get fed in the spring, and then mulched, and the only water they get is what God sends! image   the borders are very full, and the leaves of the plants prevent the soil from getting dried out too much. I use water retaining granules in my containers, which I feed twice a season with slow release granules. My greatest success have been my hostas - I've only watered them once this year!

I've always watered mine in the evening and only ever container plants at that.I suppose it might encourage snails but I think if they are going to attack at night anyway then they will.

Same with me fishy, only water tubs, the border plants will make deeper roots if you dont water them. The tubs and baskets need doing daily. Only homemade compost on the borders and tomato feed in tubs and baskets.

I read that it's best to water in evening as morning watering evaporates too quickly on a sunny day.  So I do that.  Plus have more time In evenings.   Wednesday has become feed day (and lawn mow day) for me.

  • Water in the evening and if it's looking like they'l dry out during a hot day while Im at work then sometimes on a morning too.
I feed on a Monday image
