Cheers P&P i found that out after i planted it in bog garden, didn't tell me that when i bought it, i put a couple of bits in containers in pond margins, more luck than judgement though..
Just looked up Acorus, that's just the fella i'm looking for really like that just what type to get, why do all plants have so many variations is it just to confuse us so we cant make up our mind which is best.. cheers again FG your more of an angel than a fairy if you ask me
The Ogon one angelgirl? looked at puddleplants and ebay will let the OH search and decide where we get it from, but deff having me some of that, it's just perfect for that problem spot...
The first looks to me like a marsh orchid- but I got that out my wildflower book - I don't know if there are cultivated varieties but I'm sure someone will.
The second, I'll say Ribes, I assume it flowered a few months back...and the third a hardy geranium but I don't know which...

It can be a real nuisance Percy so just as well you've got it reined in!
The other thing you could plant is something like an Acorus in the shallows there. That will hide the pipe.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
