Flo. Twinks will be enjoying life with all that company, but not easy for you.

It's rather blustery out there today. Did a 'big' tesco shop only to discover had put the 'in-date' £ off voucher onto the fridge & brought the out of date one with me! image All bits put away, bar the upstairs stuff- daughter asleep after night duty so that cant be done. As ususal workmen next door, virtually under daughters' bedroom window.........

Have received the awaited scan appointment, week before next hospital appointment, which arrived last week. Now can organise my social- ha- life around them. Need to get down to NWorcs sometime soon & meet up with old friend/neighbour. Also need to get out with another friend up here, but she busy when I'm free at the mo.

Oh yes forgot- the Ikea saga- cabinet now discontinued & non anywhere in UK! Wouldnt issue refund to me, even though t'was me who punched in the PIN number for card, as OH first named on card! image Anyway he sorted out the refund. We know which alternative we'll probably get, but am going to check it out first & could we wait until after Christmas please?

My green tomatoes get put onto a sunny windowsill & most do ripen quite well. Never tried fried green tomatoes though, quite like the sound of those. Shall investigate. J.

    Jean gets back on it.

I so agree with you Flo and when people adopt little furry bundles of fun some forget that these animals can grow up to be time consuming and expensive.

He was a big shy dog and they just didn''t give it enough it time -the good news is he did get re-homed eventually so at least they did get paid twice-no refunds-I am surprised that they let the film remain unedited as they are now known as villains

I was at the Stubbington Ark and saw someone bring a dog back after a week as it didn't get on with the family-they got a good well-deserved telling off

My parents took on a rescue dog, he needed at least an hours walk a day and he could not come off the lead because of the local sheep farms, so not ideal for anyone who has not had dogs before. He was a great guard dog no one could get within 100 feet of the cottage before he went mad.

My parents had a succession of kittens courtesy of a visiting cat. A local sanctuary  would take them. The last 2 they kept for themselves & they were lovely cats.

In his final years Dad always had a visiting cat, which gave him a lot of pleasure but not all the responsibility. Dont they say that cats have 2 homes? The last one, 'the Boy', came from 4 doors away & his owners knew but didnt mind. J.

I've heard that too Jo but mine don't go a- wandering . They are far too spoilt.

GIven up outside - it's gone really cold now and blowing a gale. Potted up some cyclamen and washed a few pots. Pansies all still ok - got rid of the collapsed ones but not putting new ones in today. See what weather's like tomorrow.

I think the eiderdown with the buttons and sleeves may be going on the bed tonight (as they say Uop North ! ) but have resisted turning the heating on.

Geoff, they are so cute -  when will you get eggs ? have to be careful how I word this. Do you have to have a man chicken as well to get eggs or is that the one in the last pic with the top-knot on ?

    Extras or replacements Geoff?

Completely forgot to say t'other day. Daughter woke us up at about 3am image to show us the picture she'd just taken of our visiting hedgehog!!

Am planning to add an extra layer tonight- it wasnt that warm last night, despite what the temperatures said! We have a thin 'duvette' quilt which gets used if very warm & then as an eiderdown/throw at this time of year. Need to change the bed linen anyway, but not for a few days so cant be bothered to fish out the autumn weight quilt until then. J.

Jean- the brown with red comb is 2 years old-I am surprised she let the 3 new ones near her-Jo they are extras-now back to 6 again.

You do not need a cockerel to get eggs- they should start laying in about 2 weeks or so-you only need a cockerel if you want baby chicks- as in humans

People give cockerels away as they are just a pain
