Bad news I could not find any Caramac in Tescos, so I had to treat myself to a finger of fudge.
Jean I know what you mean about pansies, I really like the value you get from violas but it would be nice to have something else. Last winter I did a foliage container of Ajuga and Lamium.
Becks will you be doing a holiday blog? It sounds like it could be spicy.
Chris that was a bargain.
I went for a cream tea a couple of months ago and they provided extra hot water and were happy to provide extra water, which suddenly made it very good value.
Haha - I'm sorry I mentioned that book ! I haven't got it yet and after what I've been reading on here , I don't think I'll be bothering. I'm beginning to see David in a different light - I wonder what he's REALLY going to Blackpool for.
Pam - you seem to know a lot about that book
Lyn - my friend's mother has read it and she's 70 !
Beck's you are a cheeky monkey !
Anyway , the only thing I'll be tying up will be my clematis ! Oh , and by the way - there are 3 of those books. I'm sticking with my Robert Harris.
Jean, you've got to read it now and give us your opinion. I haven't read it but from what I've heard the first book is a bit boring. One good thing about it is that some of the younger ones who never read have bought this one.
Becks have a lovely time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get away. It's the hassle of getting ready to go that is the worst part of holidays.

Maybe it'll be a slightly more adult version of the Harry Potter phenomenon if it encourages reluctant readers. Perhaps there will be seven shades altogether and some of our favourite characters will die but the main characters will grow up and do stuff that grownups really do ;- )
Yesterday was a bit traumatic. I took my German Shepherd to the vets as he had a sore bit under his tail about the size of a ten pence. The vet said he thought it was an auto-immune condition that only affects this breed and the only drug, which isn't guaranteed to work, cost £500 a month, way beyond my means. I came away with anti- biotics and steroids and a bill of £152.
We used to have a vet near us who worked out of a shed in his garden and the rates were so reasonable. We queued up in cars outside and we trusted him. He never charged for wild animals or very small children's pets.
The black and white dog is my daughters and he was on a lead last night when he was attacked by a staffie. It took the owner and three others to get him off. He's not too badly hurt but has come over to me today while my daughter is at work as he was very frightened. So altogether yesterday was not a good dog day.
pottiepam not a great day, finding a good vet seems as difficult as finding a good doctor. Some people should not be allowed to keep pets, was the staffie owner apologetic?

Aaw Jean, I remember that post you made saying you had no confidence!! You little tinker.
Shackle-snaffling!! Oo-er missus.
Can't say '50 Shades' it appeals after hearing about it from a friend. These days I'd rather curl up with a good book and nice choccie ;- )

Yes,Kate, the owner was devasted and offered to pay for any vet's bills if needed.
Joys of keeping animals but I wouldn't be without them.
Where's Jean? I bet she has gone to the book shop.
