I've been very naughty. OH went to choir early tonight so I nipped off to GC where they had 3 lavender Grosso for the price of 2 and clematis at 5€ off - bought 3 of each. Then I went back to that supermarket where they had shrubs at £3.40ish so I bought a deutzia rosea and another hebe of a different variety. And a variegated Daphne which was more expensive. Now I'll have to make another bed! There's a fallen greengage tree which will probably die but it hasn't yet so I'll do the bed around that and let the clematis scramble through the branches. If the tree does die I'll cut off the small branches and leave it as clematis support.
That's a pretty Pieris Deano. Can't grow them here except in pots, got limestone.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ok we could have more snow here tomorrow. I'm still planning to sow some seeds, but not MGs until May!!
Just put the bin out & there's a wonderful crescent moon in the West. Looking at how fast the temperature is dropping, a sharp frost tonight is on the cards. I have reinstated the bubblewrap letterbox flap. All the cuttings in the porch are as far away from the door as possible, should be ok. J.
